Embark on a journey through Morocco, from its imperial cities to the Sahara dunes, through the Atlas Mountains, and to the beaches of Essaouira. Discover the cultural richness and diverse landscapes of the country.

Program

Day 1: Casablanca Airport – Hotel

Welcome at Casablanca airport, then transfer to your hotel to relax. Enjoy an orientation tour with an exterior tour of the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country and the 7th largest in the world. Continue towards the Corniche d'Ain Diab for a pleasant walk along the coast. Your next stop is Place Mohammed V in the city center.

Night in Casablanca.


Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat

After breakfast, transfer to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of the imperial cities. Start your Rabat tour with the Kasbah des Oudayas, a fortification built on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Continue to the Mohammed V Mausoleum, housing the tombs of King Mohammed V and his two sons, King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdellah. Next to the Mausoleum, stop at the Hassan Tower, the minaret of the Hassan Mosque. Night in Rabat.


Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

After breakfast, transfer to Meknes, the fifth largest city in the kingdom. Meknes was the capital of Morocco during the reign of Moulay Ismail (1672–1727). The Meknes tour includes the massive Bab El Mansour gate. Stop for photos. Optional lunch at a local restaurant. The visit to Meknes also includes the Harri Souani stables, the ramparts of the medina and the entrance to the Royal Palace.

Continue to the UNESCO-listed Roman ruins of Volubilis for a guided tour.

Transfer to Fez for the night.


Day 4: Fez (city tour)

Enjoy a guided tour of Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. First stop in the morning: the entrance to the largest royal palace in Morocco, located in the center of Fez El-Jedid. Continue the visit with the old medina (Fez el Bali), the medieval center of Fez unchanged for centuries. Its narrow streets are home to hundreds of merchants and artisans. Visit the Tanners' Souk, the oldest tannery in the world, and the Jamaa Al-Karaouine (the world's first university) as well as a Medersa (Koranic school). Night in Fez.


Day 5: Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, departure from Fez towards the desert. First stop is Ifrane, a charming ski resort in the Middle Atlas, famous for its alpine climate and European-style houses. Continue through several Amazigh (Berber) villages before arriving in Midelt for an optional lunch. Cross the Ziz valley and its fortified villages before arriving at Erfoud.

*Optional transfer by 4x4 to the heart of the Sahara Desert. Dinner and night in a charming bivouac - beach or luxury - near the dunes.


Day 6: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir

*Optional: camel ride at sunrise on the golden dunes of Merzouga.

Return to the hotel for breakfast before leaving for Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir is a magnificent 40 km oasis with one of the largest palm groves in the country. Walk above the Todra gorges, a 300 m high wall dug into the High Atlas mountains. Optional lunch in a local restaurant, then visit the ancient village and short walk in the oasis.

Day 7: Tinghir – Dadès Valley – Kalaat M’Gouna – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, transfer to Ouarzazate via the Dadès valley and Kalaat M'Gouna. The journey is spectacular with hundreds of kasbahs lining the road through stunning desert landscapes, villages, palm groves, and with the lunar landscape of Jebel Sarhro to the south. The Dades Valley is known as the Valley of Figs. Optional lunch in a local restaurant, then the journey continues to Kalaat M'Gouna, famous for the cultivation of roses and its derived products.

Transfer to Ouarzazate, known as "the Hollywood of Morocco", for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Start the visit to the city of Ouarzazate with the Kasbah of Taourirt, considered one of the most beautiful kasbahs in Morocco.

Next, visit the movie studios where some of the most famous desert landscapes were filmed. Continue to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ait Ben Haddou is an iconic example of rammed earth architecture and has been immortalized in many famous films.

After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, transfer to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the magnificent Tizi n'Tichka pass for the night.


Day 9: Marrakech (city tour)

Enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech after breakfast. Start with the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, with a 77 meter high minaret. Continue to the famous Jemaa el Fna square, the bustling heart of Marrakech with its snake charmers, local musicians and fortune tellers. Next stop: the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs date from the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603).

Night in Marrakech.


Day 10: Marrakech – Agadir

After breakfast, departure from Marrakech towards Agadir. Visit the port where fish auctions take place every afternoon. Also visit the Valley of the Birds, a small zoo. Next to the valley, visit the Kasbah, a citadel with stunning sea views at sunset. Stop at the Agadir Museum, dedicated to the culture and popular art of the Souss Valley and the Saharan regions.

Night in Agadir.


Day 11: Agadir – Essaouira

Enjoy a free morning in Agadir to relax and stroll along the beautiful beach. In the afternoon, departure along the spectacular coasts of the Atlantic Ocean towards Essaouira.

Stop at Taghazoute, a charming seaside resort.

The journey continues to Essaouira for the night.


Day 12: Essaouira

Free day in Essaouira, a small beach town ideal for a relaxing day. Essaouira has a distinct multicultural atmosphere, the result of Portuguese, French and Jewish influences. Its mild climate and vast expanses of sand make it one of the best seaside towns in Morocco. The walled medina of Essaouira was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Its narrow streets lined with colorful shops, whitewashed houses and heavy wooden doors make it a wonderful place to stroll.

Night in Essaouira.


Day 13: Essaouira – Safi – Oualidia – Casablanca

After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca via Safi and Oualidia. Safi is one of the most attractive cities in Morocco thanks to its rich history and modern aspects. The city was under Portuguese protectorate from 1488 to 1541, and the fortress built to protect the city is still visible today. Safi is today the country's main sardine fishing port and exports phosphates, textiles and ceramics. During World War II, Safi was one of the landing sites for Operation Torch. After visiting Safi, continue to Oualidia, a charming seaside resort facing a saltwater lagoon. Oualidia is the perfect place to relax.

Continue through El Jadida to Casablanca for the night.


Day 14: Casablanca Airport

After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca airport for your return flight.
