Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara

Kasbahs, gorges, two days around Merzouga, then north to Fes.

Day-by-day itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1 · Marrakech → Ouarzazate

   Tichka pass over the High Atlas, Telouet kasbah, Aït Ben Haddou kasbah (UNESCO). Night at the hotel.

2. 2

   Day 2 · Ouarzazate → Todra Gorges

   Skoura palm grove, Valley of Roses at Kelaat M’Gouna, Dades Gorges, walk through the Todra Gorges. Night at the hotel.

3. 3

   Day 3 · Todra Gorges → Merzouga

   Tinejdad oasis, sunset camel ride over Erg Chebbi, Berber dinner and campfire. Night in a desert camp under the stars.

4. 4

   Day 4 · Merzouga

   Sunrise over the dunes, 4x4 tour around the dunes, Gnawa music in Khamlia, sandboarding. Night at the hotel.

5. 5

   Day 5 · Merzouga → Fes

   Rissani souk, Ziz valley and its palm groves, Azrou cedar forest and its monkeys, Ifrane, Morocco’s “little Switzerland”. End of the tour.
